Tutorial How to MassBan without a Plugin

Hello,
This is not exactly a tutorial but a simple method that I found out by myself a long time ago.
Since I just got back to the forums I thought it would be nice to share something with this beautiful community.
I was using this method a long time ago and it bans everyone even those with ( ignore_bans ) You kick them and they get banned.
This method is a simple Range-Ban of all existing IPs .. I guess now you see what I mean

All you gonna do is :
● 1 ● ~ CTRL + SHIFT + B
● 2 ● ~ Create a New Ban Rule with the following adress : ( *.*.*.* )
This will ban any existing IP Adress so be aware to have ignore_bans before doing this, and also don't exit the server because you can't enter unless you remove that ban rule.

Its a good way, but bad at the same time. An Admin can unban everyone with just one click if you use this technique.

True. But even the other ways, he can always do CTRL + A and DELETE

And as this is Regex, .* is also working for the IP address. You wanted to type this: .+\..+\..+\..+\.
Your way is also working, but not necessary at all as .* already does the job.
To actually match a . you have to write \. as the \ is the escape character.

There is another way that you can mass ban
by using a query client and "yatqa" (teamspeak query program)
there with your query login info you can choose the clients you want - then right click ban.
if you didn't understood a part of that let me know.

Yes, But this method requires YatQa and Query Login whereas my method is easy, fast and require only i_client_ban_power permission

well, i have to say that i probably didn't read your thread well, i thought you were asking for ways to do that

I did what you said, but I guess it's not working by writing .* in the name of the banrule.

You have to set "Regular Expression"

in that case you lock yourself out too. (and then you need query access to remove that)

If you're out to fuck something up, why would you have intentions of staying?
The regex ban would also ban your self unless you have b_client_ingore_bans set to true

as an administrator of the server you would have it.
But what's the point of talking about that?
in this thread @InVaDeR359 just mentioned a way to massban.
what you say it's not a mass ban - not even a ban - just locking everyone out.

Yes, That's right!
You can also set the name to : .* and set the Interpret IP/Name as : Regular Expression just like @Supervisor stated and It's working the same way.
