Right now we have:

This is going to change, we are going to have access to more RAM / processing / bandwidth rates.

We are also going to have more resilience - switching things up tonight ;)

Buckle your seatbelts because this plane is about to hit some turbulence lol

We have unmetered 1GBPS ;)

What about AWS lol or IBM?
My experience with AWS was like crap in terms of performance and it is overpriced if you ask me, IBM on the other hand it is a bit complicated. I would go with google cloud for the best price to performance ratio. If you don't want to spend too much money on servers you can get a server dedicated server from hetzner auction (https://www.hetzner.com/sb) or you can try contabo for getting a shit ton of hardware for extremely cheap prices but i gotta warn you before you buy, some of their server performance gets really bad (CPU, disk performance). If you asked me what would you get if you had enough money to buy whatever you want, I would go with OVH Game-1 Dedicated server, just rent it yearly and install everything needed, automate all tasks (auto-restart, etc.) and forget about it. If I wanted scalability i would go with google cloud.

Or if you want some fun you can host it on your homelab, you got control over everything, even if you had low bandwidth Cloudflare caches everything so it doesn't use much bandwidth if you are worried about downtime how many times your electricity goes out in a year? Mine goes out maybe once a year and I'm hosting my l4d2 server on my desktop which I don't use anymore and it works fine for 2 months sure I had some performance issues with my isp but it wouldn't affect a webserver if I was running one.

I don’t know how much DDoS protection Asphyxia needs. But you won’t get it with any of those listed. Contabo disconnects your server from the network if a medium / large attack occurs on your server in order to protect other servers. And you can’t do regular protection on it because you don’t have that level of access. GoogleCloud is very, very well built. I tried it, great performance, great bandwidth, extremely simple, but meanwhile complex, with a few clicks you can modify the resource even while the server is running. But and here comes a very big but, I think at least GoogleCloud was invented for small businesses or oras companies. They have high prices, and the lack of protection is back here. If the server is attacked, the incoming packet is processed by the processor and if there are not enough resources, it discards the connection. Hosting, where I am currently, solved Hetzner’s security problem by taking a separate IP domain in their country and doing full traffic redirection to protected devices.

I wouldn't host it on contabo but he is already using Cloudflare and hides his server IP and people normally doesn't start attacking servers with a lot of power randomly, yes some crazy people targets datacenters but i don't know it shouldn't be that hard to defend a web server using cloudflare.

So far, in terms of value - I am finding it hard to find anywhere else that offers what OVH does.

OVH seems to be very high quality (for the price), their support is slightly rough, but at the end of the day I feel like companies in the USA charge expensive rates. They always screw you on: bandwidth, resources, or "upgrade to premium for additional protection".

America is so damn capitalistic, so I find everyone wants to charge an arm and a leg for every tiny feature, resource, or anything they can.

Businesses that are not caring about cost might go right along with it, but I just laugh like "wtf, serious?"

Here, we can see how much more affordable OVH is:

OVH charges much lower rates, that and their low cost of IP rental is just phenomenal.

The fact you can lease their IPs for a one-time fee is just completely mind blowing. I know of hosts where IPs could easily cost $1,000s of dollars yearly where at OVH it would cost $300 once - I do believe.

Hetzner is not awful in terms of their resources for affordable prices but I think I would pick OVH over them.

My top two picks are likely OVH and Scaleway, check them out here: Dedicated Servers at the Best price Performance ratio on the Market | Scaleway

Anyone here have thoughts on Scaleway? :)

Keep in mind ymmv, for example I know some people have reported "My server wont' restart from the web panel." in the past.

A support ticket usually fixes such issues, but other than that I'd say for affordability ($): OVH, Scaleway, Hetzner.

For enterprise ($$$), obviously the big ones: Google Cloud, Azure, AWS

I haven't tried scaleway yet but I saw some sites use it, I would give a shot to scaleway dedibox.

I once tried their direct VPS service. DDoS protection is useless. If you buy a dedicated server and get special DDoS protection for it https://www.online.net/en/dedicated-server/ddos-arbor (+20 or +70 euros per month) then in principle you get good protection, but I don't think that's worth it.
